Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful Christmas and were sad to see it end, except Case who informed me he loves all the holidays because he gets to be with family(loved that!) I tried to pack as many fun things to do throughout the month to get us keep the holiday spirit in our home and make the month exciting for the kids. We read Christmas stories every night, made christmas cookies a few times, delivered neighbor gifts, made gifts for teachers, played in the snow and drank lots of hot chocolate afterwards, spent time with family, had family Christmas parties, ate breakfast with Santa at Grandma Jill's church, went shopping to buy eachother and family gifts, decorated and undecorated and redecorated with the help of little Aspen, watched all the classic Christmas shows, went bowling and to the Christmas Carol movie, played hours and hours with all the nativities around the hours, and sang and listened to lots of Christmas music. We had the LaMont family over Christmas Eve which was great and helped the time fly by for the little kiddos before going to sleep so Santa could come. We ate lots of yummy food and played and visited. The kids were so anxious for Sanata and made sure the cookies, pie and milk were left out on Santa's plate and they went out in the freezing cold to leave the magic reindeer food, which Santa in his letter to the kids said that the food made it difficult for him to get the reindeer to leave our home, they must have been hungry. (little rumor has it that Mr. and Mrs. Claus stayed up way too late the nights prior to Christmas to make the special kitchen for the kids...I think those were some of the best hours they spent making something special for these special kids of mine.)
